CART BE FORE THE HORSE

I just realized that before I buy a boat I really need to make sure I have a slip or mooring for that boat .I have had several boats and because they were the smaller version [under 30 " ] I really never worried about that aspect .
Also I think that I would rather buy a house on a canal with a slip instead of paying 6-800 per month . Looking on the west coast of florida -Punta Gordia

Re: CART BE FORE THE HORSE

If your plans were to buy a house anyway, go for it. If you did not plan on buying a house, I wouldn't worry about getting a slip until after you are ready to close on your boat. Whatever marina the boat you purchase is in will most likely allow you a few weeks to pay slip fees until you find a permanent home. It would be silly to lease a slip or buy a house for a boat before you have a boat because the hunt for the right boat can take months.
