Buying a British registered boat post-Brexit

Hive mind,

I might be buying a 4 year-old British registered boat on which VAT is paid. Boat is currently lying in Malta, and would remain there and become Malta flagged as I am a Maltese citizen. Are there any VAT issues I need to be aware of as we are now post-Brexit?

Best to get proper tax advice on this as always but as far as I know, as long as the EU VAT paid boat was located in the EU on 31.12.2020 then she remains EU VAT paid. Country of registration has no impact on this status.
