Big Irwin and lake Michigan!

Just so everyone knows...... My Irwin goes Great on lake Michigan!!!!!! WOW! I wonder what it would be like out there without all the cold and ice?

Not that I doubt your word, but I am a little confused. Its not the first time I have heard people describing an Irwin to be 61'. I worked at Irwin from 1979 to 1985. The largest two boats they built was the Irwin 52 and the Irwin 65. The only logical explanation is that Irwin 65 had a 61' LOD.

My 1976 Irwin 52 was approx 61 feet overall - from the furthest edge of the davits to the very tip of the bowsprit. But it was 52' LOD.

My boat was a stretched 1977 52. The center cockpit was removed and 4 feet added to the sern to make it an aft cockpit 56 on deck and a 5 foot stainless steel bowsprit to make it 61. If i counted the davits it was 68 overall.
