Yanmar Engine Control/Instrument Panel
Hello all,
Looking to buy a panel to replace the old one. Engine is Yanmar YSM8 but I don't like the original. I want gauges as well as buzzers. The replacements are typically listed around $400/$500. I'm considering $150 - $225 range for a used one. I'm located in Norfolk, VA.

Look on Ebay. Better pricing and design.

I have a couple but are a different size. What dimensions do you need?

9"x5". Post pics when you can. If I like the look, size could be flexible.

Re: Yanmar Engine Control/Instrument Panel
I have a brand new yanmar panel with gauges and wiring harness etc. For $300 complete with instructions and sensors and keys. Made by yanmar
But I suspect originally for stationary engines as the box is painted steel.
I was planning to switch over all the guts to my plastic housing. PM me if interested.

Re: Yanmar Engine Control/Instrument Panel
I tried to replace my light/alarm oil pressure display with an automotive analog gauge but the fitting leaked. Plastic tubing and brass fittings. Is the diesel oil pressure too great for this unit or do I need copper tubing?
And my raw water cooled temp gauge ( automotive) doesn't start until 140. In 55 degree average water the needle never comes off the starting cold position.

Re: Yanmar Engine Control/Instrument Panel
This is new in open box. I bought it for another project that didnt happen. It has keys and mounting hardware. Seems to be missing the stop button. It came that way its fir another model yanmar but should work. I don't know how the tach works. $250 includes shipping with paypal. If it doesn't work for you return it you pay shipping and I will refund all but my shipping expence.

Re: Yanmar Engine Control/Instrument Panel
I designed one for 3D-printing. Can mail you the STL-file(s) if interested, even make some minor adaptions.

Hello bailsout,
I'm new to diesel and marine as well. However, as long time user of measuring instruments in various contexts and applications, I would not use automotive gauges for anything on my boat. I suggest sticking with instruments made exclusively or primarily for marine applications.

Re: Yanmar Engine Control/Instrument Panel
That's a good looking panel. Unfortunately the orientation won't work. It's portrait and the cutout is landscape.

Re: Yanmar Engine Control/Instrument Panel
That is why I was planing to move the guts over to a landscape panel. I was planing to use 1/4" smoke lexan. I sold the boat and will be shopping for a ready to go boat next spring. It is a nice piece of kit with the warning lights built into the gauges and all.... I dont mind keeping it in case the next boat needs a panel.
