Willing to TRADE UP

I have found the perfect situation. A wife who wants to live aboard and a boat I love but unfortunately my wife wants to live aboard a different boat that I currently have. We own a 1984 Morgan 416 Ketch. She is a wonderful boat, in need of a little TLC but Completely sound as a sailing ship, 700 hours on her Perkins engine , and a wonderful boat to sail, but my wife has a need to live in a larger space because we have a little kitten. if you have a catamaran and might be in search of a monohull, please message me we may be able to work out an equitable trade.

Re: Willing to TRADE UP

This belongs in “Boats For Sale”. General Classifieds has a no boats policy.

Please note that if you are trading up your spouse—- post here.

When trading up the boat— that goes in the boats section.

Re: Willing to TRADE UP

This is why I warn monohull-owning husbands before letting their wives step onto our cat. Seriously.

Re: Willing to TRADE UP

Don't bother trading, that is a massive limitation in your pool of buyers. It's a sellers market. Sell the boat and buy what the wife wants.

One thing I've learned, if the wife is not happy, she will find inventive ways to NOT go. Such as "Yes, I am IN, we're going cruising.....right after I buy this <pet>"

Wife rules!!!!
If you want a happy life, your partner's view is the most important part of the equation.

Re: Willing to TRADE UP

Go charter a cat this winter during Xmas winds in the islands, she will want to sail the monohull after that.

As long as both partners feel that way it will work, otherwise it’s a divorce waiting to happen.

Re: Willing to TRADE UP

They say "It's cheaper to keep her". I would disagree when it comes to boats.

Re: Willing to TRADE UP

As usual the humorous comments were enjoyable lol
1. I’m not trading my wife ; she’s a keeper ( the other two weren’t lol )
2. An aircraft carrier would be too big for her since we are bothering into “tiny living”
3. Yes my Morgan is a BIG BOAT , or “big Bi-ch” as she calls her
4. Sorry if I posted in the wrong forum
5. Love the charter idea 💡
6. Keep the laughs coming !!!
