You get what you pay for. Yes, These brands are what
Sailrite is based on and they are about half the
price. But...
They don't
work just as well.
The Sailrite machines have about fifty improvements that are patented.
Try getting customer
service on the others if you have a problem.
Resale value. The Sailrite machines hold their value. They sell for almost their original
price if you can find one.
If you do your own
canvas work you will recoup the
purchase price quickly but as someone else pointed out there is a
learning curve to sewing. There are plenty of Youtube videos. You can take a class at a sewing center. There are
books. Walk around a marina and critique
canvas on other boats.
