Vintage Dirigo Boat Compass

Not new but in EXCELLENT shape. I was going to install it in a sailboat build that just never happened.

Would be excellent for use in any boat but these do VERY well in metal boats. It is fairly large, 6 or 8" across and comes with the hood. Would look cool as decor for a "man cave" or as a collector piece too.

BTT Great shape and good looking piece of nautical equipment.

Suitable for metal boats or just put it in your den.

What is the model and size? I have never before seen a Dirigo that was not a flat plate type compass. Yours is a bowl type.

PM sent
I called Dirigo and they said that they did indeed make a round topped compass for awhile.

I think you’ll get more interest if you provide precise measurements. 8” is a hell of a lot bigger than 6”. What’s the diameter of the hood?

Is that a 5” or 6” model?

Re: Vintage Dirigo Boat Compass

Looks like the diameter is 5" across. With the rounded top it is harder to measure accurately but it is definitely NOT 6" across.

Vintage Dirigo Boat Compass

It’s cool. If it would fit my pedestal I’d swap it for my beat up Richie.

Is the binnacle 7” across at the base or 7.25”?

It looks like it has a light. Does it work?

Honestly if you want to sell this you need to provide more info so folks can tell if it will fit their pedestal. It’s not like you just put some Liquid Nails on the bottom and hope for the best.

It is 7" across the base. It does not have a light.
