unit was mounted dry inside a
boat out of the sun.
the MMSI number has been reset. firmware is the newest.
disclaimer, the internal
GPS seems weak. while used on the
boat it had an external
gps antenna so I can't comment on past performance of the internal. testing at home this week the internal is hit and miss even in the open. but locks on right away when an external is added.
the external
antenna in the pictures is not included. (I borrowed it for testing as the old one stayed on the boat for the new ais)
you will probably want to add an optional gps antenna. (it was
sold as an add on when this unit was being sold) any coax gps antenna with a tnc connector should
work. (the one working in the pic is a sitex)
