Used Marine Refrigeration Holding Plate

I’m looking to purchase a used marine holding plate, preferably with freezer temp solution but I’d be willing to look at anything

Bonus would be used engine driven equipment as well, compressor, condenser etc.

Let me know if any of that stuff is taking up room in your basement

Willing to pick up anywhere in the Boston area

Thanks for looking

Jeff

Read through this thread, specifically post #4. Perhaps the OP's items would be a good start (if available).

Re: Used Marine Refrigeration Holding Plate

I have two Grunert holding plates available. They are 16”x 14”, and are both rated for refrigeration, not freezing. I have heard that you can drain the fluid and add whatever suits your needs. Other issue is that I’m in Toronto so I’d need to ship them. Obviously there are some obstacles, but if you’re interested we can try to work it out.

Re: Used Marine Refrigeration Holding Plate

I've got 2 Crosby brand holding plates, 24" x 16" x 3" with approx. 3/4" wide mounting flanges on the long sides (included in the 16" dimension). Refrigeration connections one coming out at opposite ends of the 24x3 side and fill/drain ports (look like 3/8 or 1/2" pipe plugs) on the opposite 24x3 side.

They are currently filled, but I don't know what temp the solution is. One each came from what I believe were separate fridge and freezer compartment on a previous boat, but I never ran it.

They're pretty heavy - ~50-ish lbs each.

I have a number of them as well. Many different sizes and temps. Let me know what you are in need of and I will advise availability. I can also set you up with a complete 12V or 12-110 Volt package ready to install.

Re: Used Marine Refrigeration Holding Plate

I was once in the marine refrigeration business and I have several used holding plates, expansion valves, a couple of engine driven compresors. They will be free if you can pick them up. Shipping will be costly. Let me know what you need and I will see if I have it.

I live near the Chesapeake Bay in Kilmarnock, VA near Chesapeake Boat Basin on Indian Creek.

I have a Seafrost system that has both freezer and refrigerator plates, and two compressors, an engine drive and and AC compressor. Fully operational and complete minus the copper lines that didn't survive removal. Replaced this with a DC system for longer distance cruising, but works great!

IF you can wait till next spring (or will be in FL this winter) I have a New refrigeration sea water/freon heat exchanger , and a"booster receiver" which I think is a slug trap (Adler Barbour) that I can bring to Middletown CT to save shipping.

I still have one. I was going to keep it for some experimenting, but I’d be willing to sell it. Pm me so we can discuss it further.
