For Sale: Universal 5424 w/ transmission

I am removing a 1983 Universal 5424 from a boat I just bought. Condition is unknown, but it is not seized. Will need significant work, and as such I am asking $500 or best reasonable offer, buyer to pay shipping. Engine does come with working transmission and control panel.

I should have said unknown work, all I have done is a visual inspection. The wiring is poorly done, it is obvious that it has been sitting unloved for some time. However, it does turn freely, the transmission shifts easily. The heat exchanger and cooling hoses do have quite a bit of calcium precipitate. My plan was to pull it and go through it before making any decisions, but I found a Westerbeke 35b three that is in excellent condition for cheap enough that I am going that route instead. Sorry it is not much of an answer, but it is as much as I know, hence the price.
