For Sale: Switlik 8-man liferaft container - $100

I have a Switlik 8-man fiberglass liferaft container that is in excellent condition for sale.

The outside measures 24" x 37" x 16".

If you want to pack more gear into your 4, 6 or 8-man liferaft this is what you would need to do it. Or if you want to re-pack your raft from a "depth charge" canister to a normal rectangle one.

This is just for the container - NO, raft, cradle or securing hardware.

It can be shipped or you can come and pick it up in New Bern, NC 28560. I can deliver it locally or down to Oriental or Morehead City = price being a cheeseburger meal for the delivery.

I'll try and add photos, but if that doesn't happen I can e-mail them to you. I have several pictures of it.

$100. A super cheap price for a canister in this good of condition.

For those who can't come and get it, here are some more details for shipping.

The 2 halves weigh a combined 29-lbs (round up to 30 to be safe).

I think the simplest way to ship it is to "assemble" it and use a couple of pieces of Gorilla tape to hold it together.

The price on the container was lowered to $75.

Because of the size of the canister, FedEx home delivery is $92.00.

UPS is nearly the same on paper but it is a retail store, so will cost more.

I'd be interested, but that shipping cost. If the local UPS depot is too far, I believe you can call for pickup?

Or try USPS?

Doesn't need wrapping right, just a label, and maybe tape to ensure it stays closed?

Right, it does not need wrapping. I was just going to put the 2 halves together and us some Gorilla tape to keep the parts together.

The problem is the SIZE of the container not the weight.

My FedEx store is at the airport and belongs to FedEx - it is not a retail store.

I also have this listed on e-bay and I get a shipping discount with them. That might be the thing to do, and whatever the discount is I'll refund it to you.

It won't be a whole lot = maybe $10 or $15.. and I have reduced the price to $75.

I'll check with the Post Office and see what they say.

Post Office quote for shipping, no insurance, was $96.31.

Included in that is a $55.86 "oversized" fee.

Greyhound Bus?

Greyhound would require me to drive to another town to drop it off - which is a non-starter for me.

Greyhound would require you to go and get the package at their station by 11950.

Cost is $67.36.

USPS is $96.31

FedEx is $91.48

If you want to do it via FedEx, OK.

Otherwise, sorry it did not work out.
