Here's a totally different point of view. If you really think it is too small for your 50 footer, think again. Our sailmaker thinks most storm jibs are too large for most boats, based on data from the 1998 Sydney to Hobart race. I tend to agree, in fact, yours may actually be too big for a true storm jib. Also, you might want to fly it a bit higher than 18" off the deck. Put it in storage and have a think about it. A whole lot will depend on where and how you use your boat.

Ann, thanks, the last sentence says it all. This sail is not suitable for where and when I intend to take Calypso. Will be perfect and a steal for someone else.
