Self steering wind vane

This is a "kit" built self steering wind vane by M Company. The previous owner of my boat used it during their circumnavigation and made several improvements to it (he was an engineer). I have the original manual and brochures for it which claim it is good for boats up to 57 feet due to it's unique design. The vane doesn't attempt to control the rudder directly, rather, it uses a small rudder behind the rudder.

It would obviously need some modification to fit to other boats (it comes off of an Olympic Adventure), but wouldn't be difficult to weld some tube extensions to adapt any shape of transom. The rudder could probably use a sanding and epoxy job to clean it up some.

Pickup in Titusville, FL. $800 OBO.

Price reduction to $600, but I would take less if pressured lightly.
