We're an active responsible non-smoking, semi-retired couple in Iowa close to
buying a beautiful, well-equipped reasonably-priced 30-foot sailboat for summer cruising in the North Channel of
Ontario next season. We're unable to use it all season and would love to find another like-minded Lake Michigan or Lake Huron couple as half-owners. The idea is home port it in Michigan, sail it in
Ontario. We're actually looking at 3 possible
boats, as finalists (a
Columbia 30,
Islander 29 and
Hunter 31). The projected cost of half
ownership, depending on the
boat, would be approximately $2500 to $4500, excluding overwinter, regular
