Rutland 503 Wind Generator + Regulator ($250)

I've got a very, very slightly used Rutland 503 Windcharger and regulator. It was installed February 29, 2016 and removed December 7, 2016 (in service for ~ 8 months).

I've attached photos which show the condition and simplicity both of the external and internal components. Worked great for me, extremely quiet unlike larger units I've been around.

What's included:
  • Complete Rutland 503 Windcharger
  • Rutland SR60 Regulator
  • Manuals
  • Stainless Steel Attaching Hardware
  • Adapter Spacer for 1 5/8" ID tube

Location: Long Beach, CA
Price: $250 + Shipping (Free local pickup @ Shoreline Marina)

I don't suppose you ever charted this thing's real world output? Oh, & interesting website, BTW. It surely looks like it's worth doing some reading there.

I always had it running along with panels, so I wasn't able to isolate the output numbers. It seemed to have had modest generation properties, good for charging or sustaining batteries but not really able to keep up with a working system (unless supplemented by panels).

And thank you! Hopefully the content does the presentation justice.

Good luck on the adventure. Nice website, too. And right there with you on the orange man writeup from Nov. Important times to be alive and well.

Thank you, it's good to have some solidarity in the sailing community. Harsh weather ahead, but what's the old adage about smooth seas not making good sailors?

How is the noise situation? And what is the reason for such short use time before selling?

Hey ITO, it's very quiet actually, even in 25+ kts there is just a bit of a 'woosh' sound from the blades themselves. I'm selling because I came into a very good deal on a Rutland 913, and decided the extra expense and noise was worth the additional amp generation.

Sorry for a late reply, I was out of town. I do take Paypal, I checked UPS, USPS and FedEx. Looks like $47 to ship via USPS, $64 via FedEx and $86 via UPS (all ground services). If you'd like it, my Paypal address is JacobTWisdom@gmail.com
