This is the ultimate sailors set up! This beautiful machine comes with a 110v motor, a 12v dc motor, and a hand crank. It is zig zag as well as straight stitch and is a workhorse. Will sew through several layers of 9.5oz Dacron, leather, sunbrella, isinglass, etc.

Also included are several different feet and a walking foot attachment, original manual, thread holder, led light and whatever else is in the photos.

How old is the machine? How much was it used?

I am not sure of the age. I believe the Reads is the same era of the Sailrite Yachtsman. Actually, they are the same machine and Sailrite has a few parts for them still. It is a heavy duty old machine that is all metal. I bought it used and repaired sails, made a sail cover and some interior upholstery. The bobbin winder was repaired at some point, it works but needs a little help sometimes. Thanks.

Good machine. I've made sails, settee cushions sail covers, hatch covers and awnings with mine. Where did you find a walking foot attachment?

I found it on EBay. It took awhile but I eventually found the long shaft one for maybe $15. I really like using it on some projects. Glad to hear you like your Reads also.
