Re: Raymarine AIS650 Class B Transceiver

Do these have to be reconfigured by Raymarine for new vessel data?

Re: Raymarine AIS650 Class B Transceiver

It is my understanding that any authorized Raymarine Installation dealer/service firm can reset the MMSI and do the initial programming. Raymarine will also do it, not sure of their price or cycle time. Then you can use the ProAIS2 software to change other settings (boat name, etc.) if needed later on.

I had to send mine to Raymarine to reset. It cost me $80 US plus shipping. They turned it around in about a week.

Re: Raymarine AIS650 Class B Transceiver

My recommendation is don't use a splitter. AIS and regular VHF have different antenna preferences. You end up with a compromise. We found this out the hard way, since we bought the wrong antenna for our AIS!
