New here, great well moderated forum with a nice following!

My neighbor has built a beautiful Tom Wylie design 37 foot boat, an industrial mechanic..but now in bad health in his 70's..(he's not internet savvy) and is selling his boat and equipment such as his Pur40 watermaker, new but purchased years ago. Photos available..Its in the trunk of his car. Currently these run $4,100 and he'd take about half price. I see one on Ebay for 2,700.. Never installed or used. And he also has a pur hand operated watermaker as well..Also never used.

I see photos are required..I can get them if needed. We're in Astoria Oregon and will ship with guarantee of the description and condition.

So I have the photos but cannot seem to navigate to this page from my cell phone which has the photos. Probably an issue of the screen size and needing a magnifying glass!

Pur 40e with model A indicated..purchased in 2000 and still has the original plugs and never been connected to power. I leave it to you to know the condition of the membrane. This item should bring somewhere near half the new price..some paint is peeling. And a survivor 6 is also available, hand operated..Which now run $900 to over a thousand..

This was purchased in 2000, new..Sure, Yes. And he is also offering his 06 handheld watermaker as well. These now run over a thousand and happy to include or sell separately. Both purchased new in same year. I do have a prior inquiry and sent them photos tonight. I'll confirm his interest (or not) before moving to the next offer..

Parts should be available but yes, check into it.

New membrane for the 40e to be sure, seal kit most likely as well. The 06 is older than 12 years (2000) so it cannot be re-certified.

Spoke to a distributor, he agrees with previous poster. He also mentioned pitting on piston on this vintage.
Pending a bit more research on the piston fix, I'll offer $1000 for the 40.

All above..I forwarded the owner/seller's phone number and he's available. To a couple of those who contacted me by private message above.. As far as I know the owner is accepting an offfer from Florida who was the first to contact us and arranging shipping at this point so if you consider it sold, thanks for the interest, thats best unless I hear its not sold..You're all in the ball park but we'd not do a bidding war with an offer having been made and tentatively accepted. This isnt E-bay

Lets give a couple days and I will confirm the sale is good, and then we can offer the item to metalman or to Paulcossman if theyre still interested. Just happy to get this into hands where it will find a useful purpose..
