Prout Sirrocco Sillette sonic stern Drive needed

Hi Guys, looking for a stern drive normally used for Small catamaran.

I have a 26ft Prout Cat, and busy putting a yanmar inboard but need to try find a lightweight long shaft stern drive.

Any assistance will be appreciated.

Thanks
Leric

Honda 15 power thrust!

But there was one advertised on the Green Cove Springs marina board. Problema is they break and the parts are very expensive. An outboard really is a much better solution.

But he has already put in a new diesel without yet finding a drive leg. Knowing that they aren't made anymore and parts are dwindling I would have gone the outboard my route myself, but probably a pair.

Anyhow that doesn't help the OP. I have seen used legs for sale from time to time. Perhaps try the Prout and Gemini owners groups on Facebook.

Thanks guys, I have x2 15 HP Mercury outboard but always seem to be problematic. Cost of buying new outboards are almost the same as a new inboard. Just thought an in board would be more economical in the long run and more reliable for our coastline in South Africa. Tough decisions...

Mike, what makes you think they aren't made anymore?

Because the company that used to make the casings stopped. Now it's only possible to buy spare parts and the supply is dwindling. It's quite common knowledge in the Prout group.

Even more basic things like the teleflex cables for steering it are becoming harder to come by in the right specifications. Not a big problem as you can have them made up. You probably can't have a new yoke made up though.

All that being said. A good one is going to give you many happy years of boating.
