Portabote 8 or 10' near New Orleans

I'm looking to buy a used 8' or 10' Portabote. I'm located in New Orleans, LA and would prefer if it was located within a few hours of here.

We just joined that cult . We purchased the ten foot version, goes very well with our Honda 2.3 hp outboard with three hundred & thirty pounds of us, plus the engine, and is seemingly a very dry ride thus far.

Fair winds,

Welcome to the secret society Pegu. Your passcode is being mailed separately [emoji6].

We’ve had our 10’ PB for over 15 years now. Still using it here in Newfoundland. Mostly we row, but the 3.5hp moves it plenty fast.

Re: Portabote 8 or 10' near New Orleans

I just bought an 8 footer. It had been used less than a dozen times between 2 owners. I had been looking for 6 months. Lots of 12 footers...usually $700-$1200. Then some 10 footers. They were generally around $600-$1000. But finding an 8 footer has a challenge. First one I saw was in Los Angeles for $1100.,400 miles away. Then another in Oregon, 600 miles away for $500! I tried to get him to hold it if I paid full price and have my friend pick it up coming down from the NW in 2 month but no go.
Then I decided to run an ad on craigslist closer to me...ISO Porta-Boat 8'-10". I got a call in a few days from a party in Fremont, Ca. We agreed on $550. Then I learned the secret handshake you need to own one.
