Wanted For Free: Offshore Sailing Subject Matter Expert

Hi,

I am a US-based author researching and writing a fiction novel which will be published in 2025. I'm looking for a subject matter expert on bluewater sailing/offshore sailing.

This would include expertise and reliably informed opinions on:

1. Selection of boat and equipment
2. Route mapping and voyage planning
3. Commentary on typical conditions along the voyage for a voyage from the USA to South America, and therefore through the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea and South Atlantic Ocean

perhaps I might suggest a visit to a few ocean sailing clubs or marinas, armed with a few 'drinks vouchers' and an indication to visit them on their boat with a few bottles? sure to get everything you need plus - and this is most important from one write to another, you will also find out answers to things you didn't know to ask and you'll get more real world little details to enrich your narrative and character development.
