North Direct Asymmetrical Chute 49ft Luff

Selling an all purpose North Direct Asymmetrical Cruising Spinnaker. It's just over 10 years old, clean and in very good shape, color white and yellow. Comes with a North snuffer/sock, sheets, tacker, tack line, launch bag and sail bag (over $600 in options). Material .75 oz nylon, with one pin hole batch. The sheet is a 150ft (75ft/side), 7/16" double braid Dacron, Selling cause it's a little too big for my Tartan 37, better suited for a 40'fter. Very easy to sail short handed with the sock.

$1,250 for all, +shipping.
Thanks for looking

Re: North Direct Asymmetrical Chute 49ft Luff

If your Island Packet is the 38 your I=46.5ft and J=17.8ft, that's close to mine and the sail is just on the big side. I'm I=47ft and J=16ft. It worked for me on the bay, but ocean is a bit much.

If you have an Island Packet 380, it would be a near perfect fit at I=50.17 and J=17.17ft.

The sail is located in Norfolk, Va and willing to deliver up to 100 mile.

Walter,

What was North's description of the sail? Reacher, runner, etc...

Any pictures of it flying?

Thanks,

DougR

Doug,
When I bought it, they called it an all purpose cruising chute, it was the only type that was offered thru North Direct. It is more of a runner with full shoulders. In light air it can go as high as 60 deg and off the wind to 155. If you try it and it's not to your liking, I'll let you return it. This video shows it flying in 7kts app, making 6.3kts while towing a dingy.

Shameless bump.

Summer is coming, make it fun with a new light-wind sail. Give it a try, if it doesn't fit, or not as described will let you return the sail.
