FYI to everyone, turns out the minnkota was a non issue as it mysteriously disappeared prior to my taking possession of
boat, along with
batteries and
solar panels, all of which had already been paid for, but I've got it all accomplished two days ago on our last good
weather day prior to our
current incoming storm here in
portland. This evening it was hailing with gusting winds at the marina. Ended up getting a 10 hp
Honda which barely made it, so I definitely would have been in big trouble with the minnkota, which my gut told me from the start. The
water was like glass but the
current was definitely a force to be reckoned with. She's now safely in her new home at a lovely little marina in n.e.
portland that I'm very happy with. Thanks to all for the
advice, encouragement and info.
