Mercedes W123 OM616 diesel engine

Hello from Glasgow, Scotland.

I have a 1982 Mercedes W123 240D with the 2.4 litre OM616 naturally aspirated 72-ish horsepower diesel with 215,000 miles on it. Registration BWT 973X if you want to search the car's MOT history.

I'm removing it from the car (it's still in there now) and swapping in a different engine.

I know these can be converted for marine use for about €3k using a new kit from DrinkWaard (includes transmission) or used from a reliable reseller for £500+/-.

Imagine: 72 hp in your boat for £1200!!! And parts available worldwide as the W123 was sold just about everywhere.

If you're looking to repower and want something solid, reliable, and easy to work on, perhaps this could work for you?!

It's a bit of a shot in the dark, but I just want this to go to a good home. Compression is 350-375 on all cylinders and injection pump is in good shape.

Price & shipping negotiable but hoping for around £700. Will potentially trade for small trailerable sailboat, high quaity tools, or make me an offer of some other good or service.

Questions welcome!
