Max prop classic

I have 2 Max Prop Classic propellers for sale. They are 17” three blade for a 30mm shaft or about 1 3/16”. I purchased these several years ago and don’t fit my boat. Price $1850 each $3200 for both. PYI are sold out but retail is $3900 each if you could buy them. Drkevindarden@cox.net

Re: Max prop classic

There is no such thing as a 1 3/16" shaft. The Max Prop "Classic" (which both of these are) has been discontinued for several years, which is why PYI no longer sells them.

Re: Max prop classic

I have an Irwin 43 MKIII (13 tons dry) that currently has a fixed 3 bladed prop. I have been looking for a folding or feathering prop. My shaft is either 1-1/4" or 1-1/8". The surveyor measured one and the manufacturer states another. I need to check myself. I have successfully used prop/shaft shims on a fixed prop, so I might consider going that route. I am not sure until I do some research.

Once I get my answers and I decide if I want to pursue one of yours, I will get back to you.

You might want to also consider that you will need to cut at least some portion of the threaded end of your existing shaft off (typically 1/4" or so) in order to fit a Max Prop Classic. This is necessary with SAE shafts (but not with metric.) Once you do that of course there is no going back to a fixed blade prop.

Thanks for the heads up.
