Of course this inverter is for a European boat electrical system. That being said, you could put this in your USA boat to charge "rechargeable" items such as: battery powered tools, your computers, practically any rechargeable item. Verify that by reading the text on the "black box" on the charging cord which will usually read "Input 100-240 volts 50-60 Hz". This means the input power for your device (your outlet) could be 110 volts 60 hz (USA) or 230 volts 50 hz (Europe).

Your USA boat would have to provide 24 volts DC to the inverter.
