Eight bucks each for old magazines?

I might give this a miss, but good luck with the sale. There may be some fans out there...

The original cover price on the one on the picture is $6.99, guess they must be rare and collectable

Gm guys, I did check the prices on Amazon/eBay some time ago. They're going for between $10 and $30 bucks per magazine. Only a few issues were available for sale.

Btw, I'll pick up the shipping tab.

Re: Lats & Atts Magazine hoard $400

I was a subscriber back when the original was active - I am perplexed why anyone would pay more than a $1 or $2 for a used copy - the magazine was alright - some nice pics sent in from subscribers - a few interesting articles a month - but a collectors item or worth paying more than a couple of dollars?

Maybe somebody is a big fan I guess - I found a lot of the writing a bit sophomoric ( and I am a bit sophomoric myself)

Re: Lats & Atts Magazine hoard $400

Well I'm not a sailing guy-only time I've been on a boating trip was as a teenager on Fire Island. I do love to travel though. So if a magazine teleports me to a place I've never been, then I'd enjoy the trip.

The magazines were actually left to me by a buddy of mine. He was into the lifestyle. He said the articles were a great read and encouraged me to start reading them.

If the magazines are in pristine condition, can I suggest to check which boat model was reviewed on each issue, then advertise them for sale into the various forums for those who own that particular boat model. When I had my CAL39, I went out of my way to buy the magazine reviewing the boat when it was introduced, as well as the review as an used boat. You can always peddle them as the perfect unique Christmas or Anniversary gift for that special person.
Few people will be willing to buy a set.

The OP joined the group for one purpose- to try to make a buck selling these old, worthless magazines.

Funny I was thinking nobody would wanna go through the work of buying them one at a time on the auction sites. So I figured having 50 issues would be an advantage.

And thanks for the great suggestion !

Damn I just tossed my collection. I was really pissed when I renewed my subscription at the Miami boat show and they went under shortly thereafter. Kept them for years for no real good reason and then tossed them when we needed the shelf space. Who knew?

I did read a bit of backstory on the downfall of Lats n Atts. They treated their employees like family and assured them all would be okay when they sold out to another firm. Instead, the buyer broke one promise after another and they all lost their jobs.
