Jordan Series Drogue $325

Jordan Series Drogue - 125 cones - 365 ft long - for up to 25,000 lb sailboat. $325

See it here on my blog.

Never deployed, but has been with the boat for two years while we crossed from Mexico to Hawaii to Alaska. Source was a SailRite kit. Has heavy duty shackles, stout bridle, 365 ft of 5/8 to 3/4 line. All new materials. All done to specifications. Sized to fit our boat which is a Passport 42 ft at 25,500 lb. I attach a 25 ft chain to the end as an anchor/weight.

Re: Jordan Series Drogue $325

Well that went fast! Sold it already. If you think about it, drogues are one of those things you don't need until you decide to cross an ocean (or Great Lakes). Then you pick one up from someone who did their crossing already. After you stow it for a crossing or two, you give it up to the next sailor with dreams. I bet there are a few drogues that have racked up a quite impressive amount of sea miles.

Hey Scott,

Not to sound like a sore loser, but as I was the first to reply, I’m a little dismayed to find out it’s sold...

Did you sell it locally?

Matt

Re: Jordan Series Drogue $325

Hi Matt, actually I emailed him privately just as the notice went up. It's hard to believe but we had actually agreed on a price and shipping. Then he crawfished on the deal late yesterday. Honestly, I wouldn't do business with him. I see he is starting a new charter business. I'd be worried about working with him on that, too based on my current dealings with him. Sorry to say it, but that's been my experience with him. Happy to post screenshots of my conversations with him if you'd like to see them.

Re: Jordan Series Drogue $325

Hey Guys,

I have a drogue for sale, not at this price as I paid 3 times this much less than a year ago. But you are welcome to make an offer- scroll down the ads or shoot me a PM.

Re: Jordan Series Drogue $325

Yes the drogue is sold. If I'd done my homework better I would have priced it much higher. While I was trying to figure out how to box it up with a sturdy enough container to keep all 65 pounds of it together, to send it across the country, someone else came along who was local and there would be no boxing or shipping necessary. So I dumped the first offer and took the second at a slightly higher price to me also.

Another thing that swayed me to cancel the first deal and go with the second is that it appeared that the first one was a business who might resell it at a nice profit. Or maybe he really did want it for his private boat? Who knows? The second was an actual cruiser, here locally, who wanted it so he could cross an ocean on a budget. My pop always told me that the deal isn't done til the money is in your hand.

Please don't make judgement calls on an online forum about people you don't know.
