This unit is a 130 A charger and 2500 W inverter. Worked solidly when removed from the boat as we have upgraded to LiFePO batteries. A very solid inverter / charger for use with FLA or AGM batteries.

Also included is a remote control panel with 50' communications cable.

Currently lying Annapolis, MD. This unit is rather heavy making shipping difficult but we are planning to travel to NY/CT/RI later this summer and could bring it along if to arrange hand-off further north of that helps.

The unit is about 20 years old and gave us faithful service when we were attached to dock power (or wanted to run AC-powered items while away from the dock).

I am curious as to why you feel it wouldn't have worked with your Lithium batteries? I have the exact same charger/inverter and when I decided to replace my Trojan batteries with Battleborn Lithiums, I called to ask specifically about compatibility. I talked to Inverters R Us, who seem to work very closely with Battleborn. They stated that they had tested many different units, and that the Xantrex Freedom 25 would work just fine. We discussed settings, and everything seems to have worked well in the ten months since. Which is why I am asking! TIA

The short answer may come down to personal preference.

The longer answer is:

My LiFePO battery is made up of individual cells and a BMS rather than the "drop-in replacement style." My understanding is that this charger allows for charge configuration based on battery type but not the fine-grained control I would like. For example, I do not believe I can configure this charger to not have a long-tail float charge.

My plan is to configure each charging source to charge using the exact profile I prefer for my LiFePO cells and to only rely on the BMS to cut-off charging if an over-charge situation occurs rather than as a matter of course. I know that others may have a different approach to the use of lithium batteries.
