FWIW, as long as the foil is long enough a Type 1 should work fine on your boat. For some equipment I always recommend next size up, and if you’re circumnavigating a Type II would be a good choice. But the type 1 would likely have done fine.

Except Unit 1 will only take 5/16” wire not 3/8”.

Yabut, it was on the boat already, so it musta fit the wire that was there?
