Garmin 740s chart plotter and HD 18 Radar
Used but in good condition. Also includes cables to connect The HD 18 to the 740s (I haven’t measured but at least 40’ of cable) and charts of US east Coast, Canada, and Caribbean. Located in Philadelphia $1200

Re: Garmin 740s chart plotter and HD 18 Radar
Might I ask.....why are you replacing it?
Also, I have heard differing reports regarding the Garmin radar. ...what has been your experience ?
I may be interested.
Thanks, David

Re: Garmin 740s chart plotter and HD 18 Radar
I’m going with new B&G instruments and mfd. When I go cruising again I’ll add B&G Radar.
The radar worked perfectly all the way from Panama to Philadelphia. I used it mostly the pick out squalls while underway at night.

Oh. Finally found it. On my screen it was under one of the photos and hard to see.

I have this exact setup, and tho it is a bit dated now, I still really like it. Very reliable pair.

Re: Garmin 740s chart plotter and HD 18 Radar
I found it to be an excellent small radar- easily tuned with very good target definition and good rejection.

Re: Garmin 740s chart plotter and HD 18 Radar
I have the 741 and the same HD radar. Works great too.
Radar is fairly light on power: 4 Amps when scanning, and 3 amps in stand by.
Data cable between the radar and MFD is a regular cat5 network cable, so easy to replace or splice.

How old is the equipment? What did it cost originally?
