Sorry you had a bad experience here. That's why I said what I did. You were asking for offers, so what is wrong with that...nothing. I built my own watermaker from a salvaged Spectra. Your unit new, currently sells for $7,000. So maybe that could give you or someone a starting point.

I think its not unreasonable to post a price you are looking for, especially if it is a forum rule. Just saying send me a offer, gets you offers all over the place. You must know what approximately you want for it. So start there. Having sold many things over the years on all kinds of forums and ebay, it's not unreasonable. The OP was trying to get the most he could for it, and I understand that, but without a reference, or a price to start, and the initial new price is not that, it's difficult.
