flooring for a catamaran
Looking for flooring for my catamaran. I need suggestions on what kind/brands that are best for salt water.

And the lightest weight possible please too. Flooring all seems so heavy when I look at it.

Re: flooring for a catamaran
we re-did our floors recently using vinyl planks (same as for domestic use in kitchen etc) easy to self-instal, look great and will last forever. unaffected by saltwater
details https://www.karndean.com/en-au/floor...s/wp312-palleo
i think they are fairly light but this is subjective...
cheers,

This is what we used, light weight and durable.

We went with a brown color. We cut to size and my wife sewed a binding on the edge, then held down with snaps.

Here’s a link to the company we bought from. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Marine-Wove...-/192961322340
And the contact info.

It cost us a little over $500 for a 40’ catamaran, but that was just the hulls as it’s an open bridgedeck cat.

Re: flooring for a catamaran
I am curious if anyone has done anything like this?
https://leggari.com/floors/order-flooring/
I did the floors and counters in my house with it and really liked it. Wondering pros and cons in a yacht... Probably requires more prep/sanding/fairing before application. Easier to keep dry and clean, probably not super light, but not stupid heavy either?

Re: flooring for a catamaran
You'd have to figure out a clearish non-skid, but maybe sand would add to the stone effect.
A lot of us have had veneered faux teak & holly plywood floor in their boats for decades with few issues - well, some of us haven't had issues with it I wonder if similar is possible on a well faired composite floor?

Re: flooring for a catamaran
Are we talking just floor covering? Or floor boards that have some strength? I've been in search of the latter, our boards are balsa-core with a laminate skin on both sides, have been looking for replacements. Something like the Nidastream products or Nord Compensati sandwich panels.

They supply non-skid for the topcoat, the picture I showed of my kitchen floor has the non-skid additive in the top coat.
Here is one of their info-tizement videos on the grit,
