Electric Winch Handle - new, out of box

Raising the main or genoa spoiling a good time on the water? Here's the $400 solution... All the equipment you need to create an electric winch handle. Never got a chance to put it together and use it before a life change required us to sell our sailboat. All the equipment (approximate replacement cost in parentheses) you need for an electric winch handle including:

- Ultimate Cranker attachment ($80)
- The Original Cranker attachment ($35)
- Milwaukee M18 Fuel Hole Hawk 1/2" right angle drill Cat No. 2807-20 ($240)
- Milwaukee M12 & M18 Charger Cat No. 48-59-1812 with 5.0 AH M18 battery ($90)

If $400 seems like a lot of money, consider a new kit on thecrank.com would cost $499, a WinchRite costs $835.00 and others cost north of $1K. Located in Central Florida. Buyer pays shipping costs if needed.

I bought a cheap drill that boasted 50nm torque. Which would be 20kg at 250mm.

But it actually has less than half that, which is not very useful.

With a regular drill all you can do is break an arm or hurt yourself.

The challenge with newer drills in this genre including this Milwaukee M18 is they have a safety device to prevent kickback if the drill hits a nail or something. DeWalt calla if an E-Clutch. The drill works fine as long as it's not lifting a dead weight such as a suspended person up a mast using a smallish winch. I've tried to lift my 250 lb dinghy using one of these and an Andersen 14 ST. No go.
