Re: DOCK FOR RENT Ft Lauderdale

Would a polite civilised sober responsible owner be allowed to liveaboard if the boat is kept shipshape and attractive?

All noisy, polluting or unattractive maintenance to be performed elsewhere...

Sorry Paul, but the City does not permit any live-aboards in these canals.

Good luck

Re: DOCK FOR RENT Ft Lauderdale

Out of curiosity, how is a liveaboard defined in this context? Spending a week or two at the dock and going out cruising and coming back for another week or two, between say November and April, is that fitting city's description of a liveaboard?

BTW, if the question feels awkward, please see this thread for context.

That may be a 'rule'--- but I know four people who live in sailboats on those canals... Sailors who keep it classy-- get to stay... People who act like jerks and hang laundry outside or act unruly (disturbing the quiet)-- get booted... Upscale neighborhoods-- act accordingly. Easy peasy people...

No...
I owned a house and a dock on this canal for 23+ years, nobody "get to stay".
The neighbors will call code, and I have done it too: I don't want strangers in my backyard or anybody shitting in my canal.
(There is no pump out facilities, hence no liveaboards allowed)

A great area for storing a boat as it is far enough inland to be hurricane safe, no storm surge, only winds.
