Old growth plastic that is not available anymore. Case and foam in respectable order. Coveted instructions still look virgin. These seem to go for a starting bid of $50 on ebay, and buy now around $120. Asking $70 and you pay shipping from 94804.

I bought one (used) recently for $70, which I thought was very fair, and so is this. A good basic sextant.

Side note: the foam padding on these is cut so you can't store the damned thing with the sight tube in place (as you see, bad.wabbit has the tube removed and the eyepiece reversed.) So I sliced 3/8" off the left side of the foam block (using a straightedge and a very very sharp chef's knife) and cemented it back to the right side, thus shifting the whole rig 3/8" left. Assembled sight tube now fits .
