Custom Deluxe winter cover for 1974 Newport 30 Mark II

Custom Ship Shape Deluxe winter cover for 1974 Newport 30 Mark II, made by ShipShapeCanvas.com. New in Dec 2013, used 6 seasons. We paid $1990. Asking $750. Excellent condition. Two people can easily install it in less than 2 hours. We liked it so much that we had them make a similar cover for our current C&C 30.

(description taken from Ship Shape’s product description)
On Deluxe Covers all stanchion openings (including bow and stern rails) feature a sewn in collar and strap loop tie-offs. When the cover is tensioned these collars help prevent moisture from penetrating the cover. Also pictured is a strap loop tie-off. The tie-down rope is tied to one of two strap-loops, and then led through the other. As the rope is tensioned it effectively draws the two together, closing the gap. In the spring time the rope is simply slid out of the second strap-loop, allowing the cover to be removed without untying the rope.

All covers have a minimum of four large vents installed to help reduce heat and moisture. Without proper ventilation boats suffer greatly from mold and mildew. Vents are neatly sewn in place with a backing screen, which helps to stop blowing snow in the winter and insects in the spring.

On Deluxe covers cones are sewn in place on in-set shrouds to close off the openings. A rope lashing closes the top of the cone and a zipper makes for a simple and quick way to close the slot opening.

On Deluxe Covers a tie-off cone is sewn in place allowing a simple way to close off the topping lift opening. All covers feature a zippered stern access, running from the end of the boom down to the center of the stern.

All seams and zippers are double stitched with heavy duty size 135 polyester thread. Chafe guards are sewn in place whenever the cover is in contact with protruding hardware. Also a center rub strip is sewn in place from bow to stern. This provides an extra layer of Top Gun positioned where the cover needs it most. Other areas with extra layers of reinforcement include the mast opening and the end of the boom/topping lift.

Our covers are divided at the mast into a bow section and a stern section. Each section is equipped with a tall mast collar which wraps around the mast and is cinched shut with two straps. The stern collar overlaps the bow collar, providing a second layer of fabric to close off the mast opening. A zipper located on each side, from the mast down past the toe rail, which then joins the bow and stern sections.
