Hello,
There are more than 60 charts. If you tell me the area(s) that you are interested in I can send you a list of chart numbers and Notice to Mariners information.
Most of the charts have been folded once to fit on our nav table. The best way to ship them would be rolled and shipped in tubes. Most of the Canadian charts are only several years old; the
New England charts are older, the oldest being about 15 years old.
We have always kept the charts aboard for reference and comparison to our
chartplotter, particularly in areas that we were not familiar with. I used to correct the older charts from the Notice to Mariners, but found it was not worth the trouble. Many of the charts are for areas that change very little, being primarily rocky coasts, and we have found that relying exclusively on either charts or a
chartplotter, no matter how recent, is not very prudent. Some of the
Cape Cod and
Nantucket Sound areas change so frequently that you cannot rely on the buoys or depths being correct on either the plotter or chart.
I would consider an offer if you are interested in making one; I am thinking that the Canadian charts should go for about 1/2 of their new
price, and the older charts for less.
Regards,
Bob
