Can I borrow your car? NE USA/NW USA

Hi,

Some folks have a spare automobile, car, van, camper, small SUV, anything.

I would like to borrow a car for a few weeks in October and or November in the North East states of USA, location doesnt matter. Or, or maybe and, the NW of the USA or SW Canada.

Car doesnt need to be real flash, not quite a junker. A Ferrari with blonde would be suitable...

Believe it or not, I am a slow, considerate, careful driver.

I would pay insurance, 'donation to maintenance' etc like Turo.com but to a forum person.

Yes, I would be putting a few miles on the clock as I would be doing some touring.

If you would be able to help out I would be very appreciative.

Contact me via PM or mark [at] ourlifeatsea [dot] com

Thanks

Mark

Mark, I've got a 98' Subaru wagon that you can use on a weekend. The car lives in Seattle (I live across the sound in Port Townsend) and my wife and I use it during the week as part of our commute.

Maybe you have an inflated notion of how many "spare" cars Yanks have! If this is intended as transport through the snow, to and from the cabin you envision, perhaps you're looking for 4wd? and with snow tires? Maybe will have to rent, as it's specialized.

Once you get the details worked out, the plan sounds really neat.

If you sailed to Newfoundland, probably somebody'd befriend you and solve both problems at the same time. Folks are different at the end of the road.....

Got a unregistered 2000 Dodge intrepid in New Jersey. Needs front brakes. Was a pimp mobile in a previous life. Could work for you Mark!

Lol

No they are two different trips. One is October and November.
Then the sit in the hut in Canada is January. I don't need a vehicle for that.

I don't mind renting in that I am getting prices about $690 per month. Just thought I would offer a cruiser with a spare car some $$. And, yes, ALL Americans have lots of cars. Why else do they need those huge driveways and garages?

Hope you and Jim are well

Re: Can I borrow your car? NE USA/NW USA

Methinks you're targeting the wrong country & people. Canadians by far have more cars per household than Americans ... at least they do where I live. Maybe you shud tour Canada instead ... besides which, you'll probably get a better bang for your buck considering the value of our Canadian $ right now.
You can also buy some pretty good transportation on craigslist for less than a thousand bucks. Think Volvo 240 or 740 models around $500 ... reliable transportation ... another place to find a car is at a major airport. Ozzies and others buy an old car, drive it and leave it at the airport when they go home. No disposal fee!
