British Seagull Outboard
Ran last year, good compression and spark. Fuel leak around the petcock and the throttle cable is frozen in place. Some parts included. Pick it up an hour north of Tampa. No shipping.

Re: British Seagull Outboard
I saw one of these on a dinghy in Tyrell Bay, Carriacou just the other day. First one I’d ever seen. A classic looking piece of hardware!!

Re: British Seagull Outboard
Best O/B ever, can be repaired with a Swiss Army knife, the only thing that will stop it is running out of fuel.
Mind you, the one I had did repairing on a regular monthly weekly basis
This one looks modern, has a permanent rope start rather than a separate piece of cord and a slotted pulley on top!

Re: British Seagull Outboard
Between repeated yanks on the starter cord and then rowing to his destination, Cap Dave will soon be very fit!
Good luck to him... Seagulls have lovers and haters, few inbetweeners!

Guess I'm a lover then
But, you know, some great experiences need not be repeated...

Re: British Seagull Outboard
Really got in shape rowing because of a Seagull. Would only work going downwind when it would work. As soon as we turned around to return to boat it'd die and wouldn't restart till I'd rowed back to boat. It's at the bottom of Opunohu, Mo'orea if anyone wants it.

Re: British Seagull Outboard
Mine and it's as old as me which makes it quite a green environmentally friendly outboard unlike some whizz bang electric thingy which will be in a skip in 10 years.

Perhaps green in one sense, Pete, but what about those clouds of oil smoke that it emitted (on those occasions that it decided to run!)?
Just kidding, of course... some folks actually get good usage from them... others not so much.

Re: British Seagull Outboard
Mine was 10:1 mixture. Maybe will go 25:1 with modern 2 stoke oil?
