Baby Blake, Blakes head

I am looking for two Baby Blake heads.

Ugly - no paint, bad hinge chrome, broken seats or lids are all fine.

Must be able to be rebuilt and function with a full rebuild kit.

No casting, hinge or bowl damage.

I will need to get them to either Louisiana or Trinidad. In the US I am willing to pick up within a few hundred miles of New Orleans. In Trinidad I will need to get them delivered to Chag.

Re: Baby Blake, Blakes head

we have a blakes baby on our boat.

the boat came with a second older one in pieces. I took a cursory look at it, I forget what it was missing, wasn't any major part.

The bowl is round, the one on my boat is elongated.

I will try and get some pics sunday.

It is crazy what they want for the baby new, last time I looked it was $6000?

Still the best head out there!

Can't help but wonder why anyone would spend 6 grand (or whatever ) for a marine head?

So OP, I hope that your quest is rewarded with success, and for a substantial discount!

my boat came with it.. I didn't buy it!

HAHA Looks like the price went up a tad ... $14,000 holy f*ck
https://www.southernseasmarine.com/b...ke-bronze-head

the cruising kit (seals, consumables, etc) cost more than most heads as well!

I even bought the crazy ass expensive Blakes spanner kit! 225# for like a few custom spanners. Pretty (chrome plated) and heavy as f*ck.. but crazy expensive. https://www.sparesmarine.co.uk/websh...-blake-toilet/

Weird pricing for sure! But don't let the 14 grand bother you... that's in Aussie dollars, so only about 9800 USD... see, not so expensive!

But then in the listing from the spares place, a whole Baby Blake with a nice mahogany seat is a mere ~3900 brit pounds, so you could afford to buy two!

A gotta have item!

Jim

I didnt catch that... frigging bargain then!

I am sure shipping the head from the UK will be cheap

I usually do get the consumables from Sparesmarine in the UK. There is a distributor in the US, but they mark up the price quite a bit, cheaper to just get it from the UK.

Re: Baby Blake, Blakes head

I am still looking but I will be out of the country until March. Communications will be poor but I will check in a couple of times a week.

One thing I forgot to mention, I prefer the oval bowl and would consider buying just the bowl if available.

Thank you,
Jim
