This is a working take out of a Lecomble & Schmitt complete electric/hydraulic drive for an
autopilot. NOTE - IT'S 24 VOLTS. This drive unit has been
steering a 57'
catamaran for twelve years. Probably suitable for a
monohull up to about the same size. All the details of the exact unit are in the pictures, you can
google.
This drive will
work with most autopilots on the market. We've been using it with a
Furuno AP, but will likely
work fine with most others too.
The cylinder is just starting to leak, so it needs to be serviced - the seal kit from PYI is about $100. There is some
corrosion on the motor/pump block, and some
corrosion on the ram foot. It has been working fine, we just decided to start over again. NOTE - IT'S 24 VOLTS.
The replacement was $2,600, so $800 seems like a fair
price for one that needs a little refurbishing.
