Since others are going to ask: Amsteel Blue, or something else?

Re: 5/16 Dyneema

I want to join two 3" sections of box aluminum tubing together. Would a dyneema "binding" work for that? Is there a certain knot to use? Would it be roughly equivalent strength to an aluminum weld?

Re: 5/16 Dyneema

As there aren't any sharp edges or chafing I don't see why you couldn't hold them together with the Dyneema. I would probably need it in front of me to figure out how best to lash them together.
