Re: 2 FREE NEW 45 lbs. Delta Anchors
I've got a 44 lb Delta on my Hunter 356 and anchored with it in mud and sand a total of 228 times. I've drug once in 30 knot winds with a 4.5 to 1 slope which was because as Committee boat, we set the start line in the wrong place. That was me, not the anchor. After the race, I changed the start line, got a 7 to 1 slope and held for the rest of the day. I have held in winds up to 45 knots once in a summer squall on Kentucky Lake. It lasted 30 minutes or so, but was rock solid. I like my Delta.

Never had a problem with the Delta. Much better than the CQR and a little worse than the new gen anchors.

Not 1, but 2 new POS anchors. What were they thinking.
Plow anchors are like using cinder-blocks these days.

They came with my new boat, but I took them off in the first 10 minutes.
Tried a few time to sell them on e-bay, but apparently no one uses these POS anchors anymore.
Legal Note: For safety to life and vessel, please do not use these to anchor your boat, EVER.
Possible uses:
1) To hold down the tarp on your wood pile.
2) To hold your mail box.
3) To pull behind your yard tractor and till for a garden.
4) Throw in the back of your pick-up truck to add weight over the winter months.

I am driving through Connecticut next week and I would be happy to take one if still available and I would even show up with your favorite adult beverage in kind.

It's good if you to give them away. If I needed one I would be all over your offer.
What anchor do you like?

We want and EARTH NAIL for and anchor.
Any anchor that is designed to push earth to the sides such as a Plow anchor is at some extremely bad time in high wind and waves going to slowly drag.
Here is a bit of data that may help.
Any Concave new Generation anchor will be better than a Plow Anchor.
On a positive note, Plow anchors are self cleaning as they drag.

There's no doubt a modern new generation anchor is probably better than a Delta, but do you have a sad story to substantiate your dislike?

Our many sad plow anchor stories ended 7 years ago when we purchased a New Generation anchor.
Now we either watch the dragging boats pass us backwards at 6 knots in a 50 knot squall or we go and save a few boats from going up on the rocks.
The DRAGGERS are always plow or bruce anchors.
