This is a cruising forum. Denier has only one useful meaning, it is a measure of thread thickness

Denier. Grams (0.035 oz) per 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) of yarn.

These are from a lady I worked with who hailed from St Anthony Newfoundland. That's way up on the NE corner of the "rock".
