Visiting Tampa area!

Hey all!
My family and I are visiting the gulf coast from Colorado and I would like to experience ocean sailing. Is there anyone out there that would like to take me, my wife and three kids (ages 9, 12, 14) our on the water for a few hours? I am happy to buy fuel, lunch and beverages or anything else needed. Please PM me if you’re available.
Thank you!

Re: Visiting Tampa area!

Well, I'd offer except that I sold my boat about two months ago, so right now I'm looking for my next one.

I would also mention that it is not -- strictly speaking -- "ocean sailing" here. We're on the Gulf of Mexico, so it's just really big Gulf sailing.

If you don't get an offer, there are a number of places around here that will take you out for a cruise -- for a price, of course. I've bareboat chartered from these people before... https://sailingflorida.com They were good to deal with and the boats were in good shape. I know that they do captained "cruises" (half-day, dinner, that sort of thing). I suspect that they stay within Tampa Bay, though they might go out into the Gulf if you want them to.

Good luck.

(By the way, in case you can't tell it from my screen-name, I used to live in Colorado.)

Check out JP Cat at Johns Pass, or one of the several day sail boats at the City Harbor in Clearwater Beach. Because of our hot summer weather, there may be very small swells and no wind, so you will only experience motoring, not off shore sailing!
