Texas Cruisers Forum Meetup
Who is in? Maybe Memorial Day weekend? Or some time in April or May that is not Memorial Day? Meet at a Marina or anchorage?
Want to do whatever can include the most people.

Re: Texas Cruisers Forum Meetup
I'm Always in favor of an event that uses the boat...so a cruise suites me best. But we could do both...
As an example: meet friday at Rockport for dinner. Sail Sat to Ingleside for anchoring there. Sunday to Port A for lunch/drinks/dinner with those who can't bring a boat. Monday back to rockport for those that need to.
Or just Saturday somewhere....I'm wide open

Re: Texas Cruisers Forum Meetup
Why wait so long to meet up? The Houston Boat and Travel Show is almost upon us; will last until mid January 2014. Barring any scheduling issues, I'll be there for a couple of hours on the last Sunday of the show; 1/12. Anyone from here, attending it?

Re: Texas Cruisers Forum Meetup
My idea for waiting was to get nicer cruising weather and give people time to plan. I was thinking of a meet up where we would all sail to the same spot and meet there.
Gordo, my worry with your plan is most people would be coming form Galveston Bay area and that would have to take time off work to make that. I was thinking if we meet somewhere in the middle, we might get a better turnout. Matagorda is the closest I know if to the middle. Freeport would be another option, but it is kind of lame.
That said, I do like you plan quite a lot and would for sure be up for it. Certainly makes my life easy

I'm definitely in! And I think the idea of cruising somewhere sounds great.

Re: Texas Cruisers Forum Meetup
I may be in Florida, on the west coast, doing a little cruising but count me in anyway. If I'm around and the group decided on a marina I can get a club house.

Re: Texas Cruisers Forum Meetup
Ooh cool! We have a West Wight Potter, an Allied Seawind, a Columbia, Gordo's Cat, possible Slocum, and a Seaplane(?)!
Sweet!
We need some power boaters to mix it up a little

Re: Texas Cruisers Forum Meetup
We might join the parade if the timing works out. Matagorda sounds like a good venue to me.
Are any of you folks TMCA members?

Re: Texas Cruisers Forum Meetup
Hiya Ocean Girl! I am in the Dallas/Fort Worth area without a boat! The float-plane that I lease, while on vacation, is in the Indian Ocean on company's business. However, I'll be in Houston, Sunday the 12th to attend the Boat and Travel show. Are you and hubby going to be there? I can't wait to see the latest toys.

TMCA is a mis-nomer if there ever was one, y'all are the TMPA - Texas Mariners Partiers Association.
I'll go if the party is in/near Galveaston Bay, and so will many of the TMPA-ers. hehehe I'll make sure Phil gets the word out.

Re: Texas Cruisers Forum Meetup
It will probably be in our neck of the woods. We have some Corpus boats too. I will get my wonderful husband to post a poll on this thread to see where CFers would like the meet up.
if you don't have a boat, or cant bring your boat, that is ok, we can arrange some day sails to and from the same port. This way folks can hitch a ride on one of the CF boats and get taken back to their car..good idea?
anyways, a few months away so plenty of time to plan
Teknav
sorry cannot make the Houston Boat Show, Hope you can make it down here!

Poll added. Please only vote if you will be attending with your boat. You can vote for more than one if desired.
