Yes I agree, I was planning on stopping off at Bolivar or the Dike. Then in the morning sailing to Clear Lake. Like I said, the first time I did this I sailed from Offats to SLP, then SLP to the Dike, then the Dike to Clear Lake

We left Offats at Sunrise and arrived at San Luis Pass around 4pm

We left SLP at Sunrise and arrived at the Dike around 11pm.

We left the Dike at Sunrise and arrived at Clear Lake in the Early Afternoon.

We sailed the memorial day weekend, it was exciting since the wind was twenty four to thirty and small craft warnings were posted, my first time to be at sea, albeit just about a mile offshore, in such weather in a Potter.

Any ideas as to what activities to do at each spot.

I'm thinking

1. Offats Bayou, Launch, park the trailer in Clear Lake, have a group dinner a Gaido's or someplace.

2. Texas City, Raft up chat, drink adult beverages, sing pirate ditties.

3. Clear Lake: stop at the Kemah Boardwalk, shop and dine at the Aquarium.

4. Monday Haul out, and have brunch somewhere, go home

Re: Texas Cruisers Forum Meetup

The Austin Sailing Society had a meeting and a sail on Decker lake.

We decided we're going sailing in Galveston Bay Memorial Day weekend.

There are two boats going as of today, a Potter and a Hobie 18.
I have room for three more crew.

The announcement is here: Memorial Weekend Galveston Bay Sail - Austin Sailing Society (Austin, TX) - Meetup

So if ya'll want to join us, and perhaps gives us some pointers, you'll be welcome.

Re: Texas Cruisers Forum Meetup

Austin Sailing Society is going to be in Galveston Bay Memorial day weekend.

I've paid for the slip and I have crew so I'm going to sail Galveston Bay

Anyone who wants to join us will be welcome, We'll be in Offats Bayou Friday evening and wind up in the Kemah Boardwalk Sunday afternoon

Here is my planned route

http://www.cactus.org/~tbodine/Saili...atsToKemah.gpx

Here is the chart

http://www.cactus.org/~tbodine/Saili...atsToKemah.pdf

I'm cutting close to Eagle point in San Leon since I only draw three feet and I like to see the sights. Any advice would be appreciated.

Will I have to pay a fee when I sail up to the Dike?

Hope to see you there
