Printer, Scanner, OCR Software

I need a SMALL Printer, Scanner, with OCR Software for the boat.... I used to have a Canon BJC which was perfect until some butt wipe stole it. I’m sure there have been leaps and bounds made since then. I looked at the Neat Scanner, but it doesn’t print... The software looks cool though!

Whaddyall using? 12V would be a +, portable is a must.

Re: Printer, Scanner, OCR Software

I have always had great results with HP printers. Have not personally used this one but they have the HP Envy 114 printer/scanner that is their smaller, "portable" model. Main complaint is HP ink is usually expensive but the machines are reliable and print quality good.

Not sure links are allowed (as a mod, pls, just delete it if appropriate), but you might find interesting description of scanners, ocr and printers here.

Please, post your solutions

Fbram, Thanks and welcome to CF. Links are allowed here as long as they are not commercially benefiting the author or pointing to another competing site.

I have pretty much come to the same conclusions as mentioned in the article. The sales pitch for Neat makes it sound like the end-all-be-all, but the reviews are less favorable. I’ll look at Fugi. Still it seems that there should be both a good software AND hardware combination. Also If forced to have both a scanner and a printer in mini format (with maxi expense) I could do with the slightly larger footprint of an all-in-one for $69!
