Thumbs up Obsessive and compulsive behaviors

I'm going to try to deviate a little from all the serious banter going on in the other forums to something a little more lighthearted.

So what obsessive compulsive behaviors do you folks have that keeps you occupied in the off boating season? (For those in the southern hemisphere go ahead and respond, we don't discriminate against you cause it's summer down there) I've read a lot on here about others passions for hot rods, motorcycles, photography, fishing, nose picking, ear wax candle making, etc.

Me? I collect miniature liquor bottles (full) and have a few from all over the globe. Don't know why/how this behavior started but it was over 20 yrs ago and now there's over 120 in the collection. I'll post a pic later.

Used to collect empty coffee jars then I moved onto ciggarette packets (not different ones. all the same)

Oh yeah, and the 5 years spent collecting of paper clips........these WERE all different.

NOT all at the same time. I am not obsessive........

Until I started restoring Tivoli I like restoring old houses. I am presently fininshing a 215 year old post and beam house. This is 3rd one I have completed. I love working with the old timbers, not unlike a very old wooden vessel. I also like collecting artifacts that would have gone into a house of this age, tools, lamps, tables etc.

Yeah, I'd say the forum is an OCD thing, as is the way I check and re-check my navigation, from several different sources. I like to say it's good seamanship, but my wife and I are very OCD about everything we do aboard because of the time spent working on the megayachts.

I have a downright nasty habit in the off season - working for a living. I goof off enough during the season sailing that I have to get back to work some time.

Ditto

Unfortunately I'm sort of a work-a-holic so that's my off season. The nice thing is that when I'm doing paperwork and have two computers going at the same time I can browse forums and do paperwork.. Multi-tasking...

Good to see a few bottles of "The Captain" there Rick.

Seem's you have it on a lower shelf than deserved though.

Various bit's of broken boat, blown sheaves and block's and various manky out boards, and 1 really good diesel leg for a Yanmar.

Never know when you might need some broken boat bit's.

I guess we're lucky here on the Gulf Coast. The off season is the best sailing, better wind. Last Friday 75 degrees 20 knots while in July to August we have 95 degrees and 0 knots.

Off season weather report from here today. Woke up to -30 degs C (-24 degs F). Light winds with a wind chill of -35 degs C.

No wonder we get cabin fever! 3,219 days to retirement!

I'm at the point Cat that I have to re-organize the shelving and add some sort of system. Which shelf do you suggest for the Cap'n Morgan's? Top shelf? That should keep the Admiral out of my cache!
